Court Appointed Special Advocate Minimize

Help an abused or neglected child move through the foster care system and into a safe, permanent home by gathering information to assess what’s best for the child’s future and advocating for the child at court hearings. Children in St. Louis who are represented by a special advocate spend 50% less time in foster care than children who do not have a special advocate.

Volunteers must complete approximately 30 hours of training before being assigned a case file. Volunteers typically spend 10-15 hours per month on their assigned case.

To act as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, please contact Shelley Thomas-Benke, Director of FosterServe Volunteers.
