Parents of children with disabilities face challenges every day that other parents don't have. It is often difficult to navigate the maze of special services and create a plan that will help children achieve successful outcomes through education. But how do we reach these goals? How do we know what choices to make for and with our children? Missouri Parents ACT (MPACT) can help answer your questions.
MPACT is another source of information about special education services in Missouri. They assist parents to effectively advocate for their children's educational rights and services. The center is a statewide parent training and information center serving all disabilities. Their mission is to ensure that all children with special needs receive an education that allows them to achieve their personal goals.
MPACT staff and volunteers are located throughout Missouri working together with educators and others for children's education. The staff promotes the dignity of individuals with disabilities and their right to participate in all aspects of the community.
They serve parents of children with all disabilities and work with public and private agencies, parent groups, professional organizations and advocacy groups. MPACT provides up-to-date information online, as well as through our toll-free telephone numbers and training sessions throughout the state. You can also locate information through Missouri's education agency or your local school district.
