Future Parents Minimize

Thanks for your inquiry!  Through this site you will find information that should answer many of your questions about foster care and adoption and help you understand the steps involved in becoming a foster or adoptive parent.
Licensing
All foster/adoptive parents must be licensed.  While there is no charge for this service, some of the things required for licensing, such as smoke alarms, physical examinations, etc., may create an expense for families that is not reimbursed.

Cost
Licensed foster parents receive some assistance to offset the expense of caring for a child in foster care.  Medical, dental, prescriptions, and any approved therapeutic expenses are covered through the Missouri Medicaid program. Childcare offered by a contracted facility is also available for foster children under the age of thirteen, if foster parents work or attend school. On-going support may be provided for children adopted from the foster care system.
