Ashley - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

Ashley is a bubbly 15 year old who has never met a stranger.  Those who know her best say Ashley cares a great deal about others and is a real people pleaser.  Ashley describes herself as “beautiful, talented, caring, and helpful.” Ashley is very kind-hearted and loves animals.  When she grows up, she wants to become a veterinarian so she can help animals.

Ashley is great about following house rules.  She gets along well with friends at school.  While Ashley thinks that school is difficult, she still really enjoys going.  Recently, Ashley has become more interested in writing!  She is also very excited that her new school has a pool.  

Ashley loves to spend her time cheerleading and being with her best friends.  Her sweet disposition and glowing smile light up any room.  The perfect family for Ashley would be one who could help guide her through high school and into adulthood.  Ashley would love to be part of a committed family.  Ashley is a participant in the Extreme Recruitment program through the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition. Amanda Minimize

Amanda (16) is a very likeable child. She is described as sociable, bright and fun to be around. She makes friends easily and interacts well with her peers and other children. Amanda enjoys attention and is responsive to praise. She is making A’s and B’s in school and very proud of her grades. Amanda enjoys many activities including track & field, singing, and dancing. She also likes socializing and group activities. 

Amanda understands that an adoptive family is being sought and does want to be adopted. Amanda is in need of a single parent or two-parent home to provide love and stability as well as understanding as Amanda adjusts to being part of a nurturing family.

Amber - A Place to Call Home Minimize

A loving child who cares a great deal for others, Amber deserves a forever family that will give her as much love as she has to share with them.  

Amber’s eighth grade teacher says she is a delight to have in class.  She gets good grades by working diligently and focusing on her school work before playing.  She’s very proud of her grades – and rightly so!  Amber has also enjoyed making many new friends at school.

At home, Amber is very helpful, and often does chores and helps out around the house without being asked.  Amber enjoys rollerblading, video and computer games, basketball, fishing, camping, horseback riding, board games, reading, and her toys (especially her family of stuffed animals!).  When she was younger, Amber really enjoyed gymnastics lessons and art classes.  She learned and lot and thrived with the one-on-one attention she received.  She hopes to continue these lessons in the future.  In addition to gymnastics and art, Amber loves animals.

Carliesha Minimize

17-year-old Carliesha is a great girl.  Like most teens her age, she enjoys getting her hair and nails done and going to the mall. Courtney Minimize

Courtney (17) will light up a room!  Outgoing and friendly, she always sees the positive side of things, and encourages her friends to do the same.  Courtney says she’s happiest when she’s at school, and proves it by earning top grades.  Her school ceramics class has helped her develop her artistic side, and she’s very proud of her creations, especially a piggy bank that she recently made in class.  

A hard working athlete, Courtney enjoys running, and plans to join the track team this year as a sprinter.  Outside of school, Courtney loves to dance and listen to music.  Her tastes are varied, as she enjoys everything from Tim McGraw to R&B.   Patient and kind, Courtney also likes taking care of younger children in her foster home.

David is a tall 12 year old boy.  Like most boys his age, David loves to eat pizza, watch TV, and play video games.  One of his favorite places to go is Incredible Pizza, where he can play games and eat pizza at the same time! David is very helpful and likes to be around people.  He describes himself as “funny, nice, and smart.”   His favorite subject in school is reading and if he could change one thing about the world, he would make sure it was always a safe place for children to be in.  David hopes that he will find a forever family to love and be a part of.

Deja - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Deja (12) is a smart, sweet girl with a cheerful smile.  In her free time, Deja enjoys playing with barbies, drawing, and coloring.  She genuinely likes school and her favorite subject is math.  Deja also really enjoys being on the computer.  She has overcome her fear of water and now one of her favorite places to go is the water park.  She’s very excited to go to Raging Rivers for her birthday this summer!

Erica - A Place to Call Home Minimize
Erica (16) is a very bubbly girl with a lot of energy.  She enjoys reading, swimming, knitting, and playing on the computer.  Erica likes being the center of attention and loves to talk and ask tons of questions!  She is very sweet with a beautiful smile and sparkling personality.  Erica’s favorite subject in school is math and she loves to read.  She has many aspirations for when she gets older including becoming a veterinarian, teacher, social worker, or dolphin trainer.

Kianna - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

Monet - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

Monet (16) is going places!  This young woman is extremely talented.  She spends her free time writing about anything and everything, but mostly poetry and short stories.  Monet hopes to find a career in journalism and is thinking about which college would she should choose to help her accomplish her goals. Her dream is to one day write her own book.  

In addition to her writing abilities, Monet loves the performing arts, including singing and dancing.  She also enjoys spending time talking with friends and is very social.  Monet is happiest when she is around people she can depend on.  Those who know her best say that she is a good friend, well-spoken, smart, and has a fabulous personality.

Monet would love a family to be there for her as she grows into adulthood.  She has always been the baby of the family, but says she would also love to be a big sister. Phillip - A Place to Call Home Minimize

If ever there was a child with a big heart, it’s 15-year old Phillip.  His kindness is only surpassed by his empathy and concern for others. Phillip has a great, playful sense of humor and a polite demeanor.  He has a pleasant and easy-going personality. Phillip enjoys books, especially about animals.  He is fascinated by unusual facts about animals and is eager to share this love and knowledge with others.  When it comes to animals, Phillip's favorite is a dog, hands-down.  He is gentle and kind with the family dog in his foster home.  Phillip rides a therapeutic horse weekly and it is something that he truly enjoys – and is benefiting from!  Like most boys his age, Phillip enjoys video games.  He also likes jumping on the trampoline, playing with legos and cars, and coloring.  Phillip is really passionate about art.  He’s always using pencils and charcoal to sketch.  Drawing helps Phillip express himself and it’s something he really loves to do.  Phillip likes school, especially math.  When asked to describe himself, Phillip says, “I’m handsome, I’m nice, and I can draw!” 

Phillip thrives on one-on-one attention. He has waited a long time for a his forever family to find him.  He deserves a loving family that is patient and understanding. Like many children, he does best with structure and consistency. He has a loving relationship with an elderly grandmother and an older sister. Phillip is legally free for adoption.

Sara (14) is a bright girl who loves to laugh.  She has beautiful long hair and takes pride in her appearance.  Her favorite subject in school is math.  She also loves sports (especially football), swimming, and listening to music.  Some of Sara’s favorite places to go are Six Flags, the mall, and Baskin Robbins.  When she grows up, Sara would like to be a lawyer.

Shantelle - A Place to Call Home Minimize
Shantelle (16) is a talkative, wonderful young lady with a bright smile.  Like most girls her age, Shantelle loves makeup and clothes.  Her favorite color is pink.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing board games, reading, crocheting, and watching television.  Her favorite foods are pizza, hamburger, and steaks.  Shantelle has a big spot in her heart for animals, especially Golden Retrievers.  She says they are her favorite animal because they are “protective, have shiny hair, and will always love you.”   When she grows up, Shantelle wants to be an animal cop and rescue pets that have been abandoned.

Sharod - Wendy's Wonderful Kids Minimize

12-year-old Sharod is a very smart young man looking for a forever family.  He likes to hang out with his friends and gets along very well with just about anyone!  Sharod reads often and loves to find a quite place to sit down with a good book. He’s happiest when he’s reading and learning.  Sharod also loves math and finds school “enjoyable.”  If he could change one thing about the world, he would make it “a better place.”  Sharod had a ton of fun making Chocolates at Lake Forest Confections and would really enjoy taking cooking or baking lessons!

Shaelyn - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Shaelyn (12) is sweet, appreciative, and a joy to be around.  She loves to draw, do crafts, and work on almost any type of artistic project that she can transfer from her imagination to paper. Art is her favorite subject in school.  Recently, Shaelyn has really started listening to music and singing.  Her dream is to sing on stage with Miley Cyrus!   Shaelyn also likes dancing, basketball and music. Three things Shaelyn likes about herself are her sense of style, her singing voice, and the kind way that she treats others.  Like most girls her age, Shaelyn loves to go to the mall and shop!  Shaelyn's smile is very captivating and endearing, and you can't help but notice to her bright eyes and childlike innocence.  More than anything, Shaelyn wants to find a mom and dad to love her and care for her “forever.”  She wants to be part of a family that will make her feel like she has a place to belong.

William - A Place to Call Home Minimize

William (11) is a delightful boy who wants very much to have a forever family.  He needs a committed family who can provide structure, discipline, and can give him the love and consistency he needs.  In his free time, William likes to play sports and video games.  He enjoys basketball and going out to eat.  His favorite place to go is Six Flags and to sporting events.  William describes himself as smart and funny.  He says that some of the things others like about him are his sense of humor, kindness, and that he’s very loveable.  In school, William’s favorite subject is social studies and spelling.  He dreams about being a football or basketball player when he grows up.  If he could change one thing about the world, William says he would make it “more peaceful.”

Timmy - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

12-year-old Timmy is an energetic young man who loves to be social and thrives when interacting with others. This sweet and playful boy enjoys being outdoors, listening to music, and singing songs. One of his favorite activities is playing catch.

Though Timmy faces some physical disabilities and sometimes uses a wheelchair, nothing stops this active and playful boy.  Timmy does well in school and loves his teacher.  He is a very inquisitive and likes learning new things - especiallywhen it comes to learning about new foods! 

The perfect family for Timmy would help him maintain contact with his sister and be able to provide one-on-one support for his daily care and emotional needs.  But most of all, they would love him unconditionally.  Timmy is legally free for adoption and in need of a forever family.

Uniqua, Octavia, Queen, Lamont, and Albert Minimize

This “fabulous five” are very close and are happiest when they are together.  Uniqua (age 12, pictured left) is the oldest and is a natural leader.  Uniqua loves school and is proud of her good grades.  Fun-loving and energetic, Uniqua enjoys double-dutch, video games, singing, and dancing.  When asked what was special about her, Uniqua said that it would be her love for her brothers and sisters.  Octavia (age 10, pictured far right) is friendly and easygoing. Octavia is a good student like her big sister.   Octavia likes to play video games and watch Sponge Bob Square Pants. Most of all, Octavia enjoys designing clothes. She spends a lot of time working on her creations and has already filled several sketch pads with her designs.  Octavia is very inquisitive, and always eager to learn new things. Queen (pictured middle) is nearly 8 years old and is bubbly and outgoing. Talkative and kind, Queen is a diligent student and enjoys going to school.  She likes being outside riding her bike and playing with her friends. Lamont (pictured far, left) is almost 5 years old.  He likes to smile and laugh, and is always ready for fun.  Lamont looks forward to going to day care, where he gets along well with the other children and teachers.  His favorite activities are playing with toy cars and trucks. Vi-Torian and Rome0 - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

Vi-Torian is an outgoing, adventurous young lady with a great heart. She loves writing poems and song lyrics.  Her favorite thing is singing. Beyonce’ is her favorite performer and Vi-Torian says that she wishes to be a singer when she grows up.  
Romeo is “a pleaser,” says his foster mother.  Romeo often does nice things for others just "because." He's a very sweet boy.   Romeo loves being around his friends and playing football and basketball. Romeo also likes drawing (he specializes in drawing cars and avatars), playing outside, riding his bike, and reading. Romeo is proud of himself for obtaining the highest level of reading in his class.
These siblings love one another very much and have a strong bond.  Vi-Torian says that her brother is "smart."  Romeo says that his sister is "pretty, sweet, nice, and smart."  They would love a forever family that will give them the opportunity to grow up together and continue to support their bond with one another.  They also have older siblings who they would like to maintain contact with.  Termination of Parental Rights has occurred; Vi-Torian and Romeo are legally free for adoption.
