Darryon Minimize


Darryon, 14, is a bright young man who would love to be a part of a forever family. When you see Darryon, one of the first things you notice is his big smile. He has a quiet demeanor at first but warms up quickly to others. Darryon is known for his charming personality. He is very nice, polite and friendly. Darryon has a good sense of humor and likes to make others laugh.  Like other youth his age, Darryon likes to play the latest video games and watch movies.  His favorite sports are swimming and  playing basketball.  Darryon also likes hanging out with his friends. Darryon has a wonderful relationship with his brothers. He really has a good time when he gets to hang out and spend time with them. Katrina - A Place to Call Home Minimize


Katrina
is a very likable, inquisitive, bright, and friendly teen.  She has a great sense of humor and an obvious love of life. Her passions are academics and animals. She owns a 10-month old cat, cares for her foster family’s bunny, and enjoys the dogs in the home. Katrina says that she would like to own a pet pig or maybe a king cobra. Katrina likes to read and write. She hopes to be a published author some day, but not as a career. Katrina hope to be a “brain surgeon or a lawyer”! Katrina is well on her way to making this happen, and is even in the talented and gifted program at school.

Katrina likes to go camping, swimming, and ice skating. She says her skills on skates are “fair to average,” but she would love to have lessons to improve them. She also thinks karate lessons might be fun. Katrina enjoys the computer, watching cartoons on television, and horror movies.  Katrina’s favorite food is orange chicken and her favorite restaurant is Noodles. Katrina thinks a vacation to Antarctica would be her first choice for a vacation spot because it would be different and she likes cold weather and snow. She has never been snow skiing, but really wants to try it. Katrina thinks an ideal family would have “a good sense of humor, love pets, be active, and provide a ton of family interaction.” Katrina believes families should be people you can trust and count on in times of need. She would like a room of her own so that she has “her own space.” Katrina knows how important it is to have a family, and would love to have a parent or parents who she can share her thoughts and feelings with. Kenlea - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Although there are many wonderful words that describe Kenlea, the first one that comes to mind is kind.  Kenlea is a sweet girl.  Both smart and artistic, she is a true "old soul."  Kenlea enjoys singing, dancing, drawing, and writing.  One of her favorite places to go is to the mall.  She says she, "enjoys telling people when they look nice."  Kenlea enjoys playing her DS game, enjoying sweets, and trying on hair bows, clothing, and jewelry.  She works diligently at school and her favorite subject is math.  Kenlea says being adopted means, "having a family that loves me no matter what." Gavyn - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Gavyn is an amazing young man.  He loves to play with action figures, jump on the trampoline, play outdoors, and with his friends.  His favorite place to go is to the park where he can swing on the swings and just be a kid!  Gavyn says that’s when he is the happiest.  He also likes to go fishing, paint, and he says that he “really likes his hair!”  Gavyn’s big smile lights up a room and his sweet sense of humor makes his personality shine.  Those close to him say Gavyn always puts others before himself and that he is a good friend.  Gavyn thinks school is fun and he really likes his teacher.  His favorite subject is Art.  Gavyn’s sense of humor is evident when he talked about what he would change in the world if he could change one thing about it.  Gavyn said, “I would want China to move closer so I could visit.”  To Gavyn, being adopted means, “that you get a new family. Lewis - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Lewis is a polite, sweet young man with a heart of gold.  He likes to “play around” in his free time.  Lewis is a car-enthusiast and one of his favorite places to go is the car museum.  To Lewis, being adopted means that he “can have a forever family.”  Lewis also loves music.  He will try his hand at any instrument you put in front of him but has a soft spot for the guitar, drums, and flute.  Lewis is smart and says he’s a quick learner.  He’s creative and makes friends easily.  Lewis is passionate about the things he believes in – one of which is staying drug-free!  Lewis was one of the only children in his grade chosen to win the DARE Award for an essay he wrote about staying drug free and making good choices.  Lewis is very proud of this accomplishment!  For more information about Lewis, please call 800.FOSTER.3 (314.367.8373).

Courtney Minimize

Courtney, age 13, loves to sing.  Her favorite singer is Nicki Minaj, but Courtney will sing nearly anything and likes to create parodies to songs.  She also likes reading, especially books by Jodi Picoult.  Courtney has read nearly all of Picoult’s books.  In her free time, Courtney also enjoys drawing.  She combined her love for books and her talent for drawing by creating an amazing portrait of her favorite author.  Courtney thinks school is alright most of the time, but she prefers to be singing or talking with friends.  Needless to say, her favorite subject is reading.

Katrina - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Katrina, age 14, likes to crochet, hang out with friends, and play soft ball.  Her favorite place to go is Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Katrina is a girly-girl and says she "isn't into" camping or hiking or outdoor things like that.  "It's just not me," she says.  Katrina's favorite subject in school is art.  If she could change two things about the world she would end global warming and stop child abuse.  To her, being adopted means, "having a family that loves me."  One of Katrina's dreams is to go to HOllywood one day.  Right now, her biggest dream is for a forever family. Shiann - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Shiann, age 6, is a delightful little girl.  She is very playful and has a beautiful smile.  Shiann loves to play pretend, color, and play dress up. Richard Minimize

15-year-old Richard is a relaxed and easygoing young man with a great smile that can’t help but brighten your day.  Calm in manner and easy to be with, Richard gets along well with both adults and other children.  Richard is a serious football fan who loves the sport and follows his favorite NFL team, the Cleveland Browns very closely.  If you’re even curious about Browns’ running back Trent Richards’ current stats, Richard is definitely the guy to ask.  An aspiring football player himself, Richard hopes one day to attend the University of Alabama and hopefully play on the Crimson Tide.  He also loves riding his bike, and some of his friends say they wouldn’t be surprised if he took up competitive bicycle racing someday.  A hard worker, Richard realizes the importance of school and getting a good education.  His favorite subject is social studies and he especially enjoys studying African-American history.

Believing that first impressions are important, Richard takes pride in his appearance and always tries to look his best.  Especially polite and well-mannered, Richard is respectful of others and very protective of younger children. Gracie, Andrew, and Ryan - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Gracie, 6, has a personality all her own. This petite princess loves to dress up and play make believe.  She has a ball playing with her dolls, dancing, or watching fairy tale movies.  Her favorite part of school is show-and-tell and her math class.  When asked if she could change one thing about the world, Gracie said she would, “make it Christmas all the time!”  Gracie is a bright-eyed sweetheart. Her kindness and laughter will melt your heart.  Gracie loves talking and chatting.  She is proud of her talent in gymnastics and would love to have a family to cheer her on and help her join a gymnastics team. 

Andrew, 9, is a great big brother. He enjoys participating in activities at church and was recently enrolled in Karate.  Andrew is a determined child and he does very will in school. Like most kids, Andrew likes playing video games and playing baseball. Once Andrew gets to know you, he really opens up.  He has an amazing personality and is wise beyond his years. “Not ever getting to see my brother and sister is the hardest part. You keep constantly seeing different parents.  I just want them to love me and take us places like a baseball game,” said Andrew.

Ryan, 7, is the sports enthusiast of the three. The “middle” child, Ryan has a blast playing outside and being active. He enjoys basketball, running, and almost any sport with a ball.  Ryan is a great kid and loves his big brother and little sister very much. While most kids wish for a new bike or something special for their birthday, these three are wishing for a forever family.  Gracie, Andrew, and Ryan want to “not have to move anymore.” They need a family who will love them and show them that a family is forever. Tommy - A Place to Call Home Minimize

15-year-old Tommy is an intelligent, handsome young man with many talents and a great personality.  Tommy enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, basketball, and swimming.  He likes fishing so much that he even chose to write a school paper about the Greek God of the Ocean, Poseidon.  When not outside, Tommy relaxes inside by playing video games, reading, sketching or painting, and cooking. Tommy says he doesn’t mind being indoors as long as it’s in a tidy house! He jokes that he “hates a messy house.”  Tommy doesn’t joke about his love of cleaning, though!

Tommy likes school because he does well and says it “keeps him out of trouble.”  His favorite subjects are literature and art. He does well in both. Tommy’s goal is to attend college and then begin his career as a Marine Biologist or maybe even a Nuclear Scientist!

Tommy dislikes kids who bully others and says he is a good role model for younger children and knows he’s “good with kids.” He’d love to be a big brother or an only child he says.  Tommy wants a forever family who will show him new life experiences.  He wants parents who will help him with his homework, have fun with him, and love him for the rest of his life.  Tommy said, “Money can’t buy love.”  He doesn’t care if his adoptive parents are rich or poor, “as long as they love me.”  Tommy did say that he wouldn’t mind living near a park, however!  For more information on a great young man, call at 314.367.8373. Danearia - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Danearia, age 12, is proud of her academic work.  “I make all A’s and B’s, “ she says.  Her favorite subject is math and she thinks school is “fun.”  Danearia loves being a girly girl and enjoys trying on fancy, bright colored clothing.  “What I wear tell people that I’m sassy, “ she says.  Danearia has quite the sense of humor.  She loves listening to music, especially Justin Beiber.  She’s also quite the singer and enjoys rocking out to music and singing along out loud.  Danearia also likes basketball and soccer. kind-hearted, and giving.  Danearia wants to save her money so that she can take her favorite adult out to eat!   She hopes to find a family who will “treat her right.”  To Danearia, being adopted means finding someone who wants her and loves her.

Anna, Grace, and Alex - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

Anna, Grace, and Alex are three peas in a pod!  Alex, age 8, loves building things with Legos! He cannot seem to get enough of them. He also enjoys drawing and watching cartoons. Alex is very active and loves to be in his playhouse or on the trampoline. He has tried his hand at baseball, but is not yet sure what to think about it. Alex enjoys pets, but says that he is allergic to cats. He has quite the sweet tooth and loves ice cream,  candy, and chocolate. Alex says that other people describe him as friendly.

Grace, age 9, likes to spend her free time drawing or playing games on her Nintendo DS or the computer. She also wants to be outdoors whenever she can. She likes the country and enjoys exploring the creek. Grace loves animals and takes pride in taking good care of them. She also likes working with her hands and hopes to build a tree house with a mom or dad someday. Grace says that other people tell her she is funny and friendly. She is proud of winning a school award for being responsible. Grace loves school, especially math and music.

Anna, age 15, enjoys reading, playing on the computer, and drawing Anime. While she thinks school can be boring sometimes, she enjoys seeing her friends and attending art class. Like her sister, Anna is also an animal lover. She says that other people enjoy her personality. When asked what cheers her up if she is feeling low, Anna says that seeing her brother and sister does the trick. Hearing her siblings laughter puts a smile on her face.

David Minimize

David is a 12-year-old who has sandy brown hair, dimples when he smiles, and brown eyes.  David is smart, fun to be around, and an all-around great kid. He has a teasing sense of humor, but in a good way! David is a good student who benefits from encouragement with class work. Last year, David said that when he grows up, he wanted to be an artist or a professional wrestler. This year maturity has set in and David is considering possible career choices of an accountant or possibly entering the military to learn the construction field, such as in the Naval Seabees.

David likes playing video games, drawing, swimming, watching wrestling, and fishing. David loves to fish!  His dream vacation would be a trip to go deep sea fishing. David likes listening to music and his favorite group is AC/DC.

Jarod - A Place to Call Home Minimize

When you meet Jarod, you know you’re meeting someone very special.  He has a heart of gold and a true caring personality. Someday, Jarod hopes to join the military.  He wants to be in the special forces.  Jarod says that one of his dreams is to sit in a tank! Jarod likes all sorts of activities such as bouncing on his pogo stick, driving race cars (go carts), playing video games, and riding his bike. Jarod also enjoys gymnastics and would like to get involved in some kind of sport. “Maybe Little League would be fun,” he says. Jarod is smart and inquisitive.  He has a great sense of humor.

He would Jarod has moved ten times since being in foster care, and is in need of a forever family who will make that move his last. Suikwan, Davion, Brenton, and Zaria - A Place to Call Home Minimize

This “fab four” group of three brothers and one sister have a strong connection and hope to find an adoptive family that can keep them all together. Davion, 12 (center), is an energetic and talented young man with many interests. Davion is proud of his talent drums – which he plays for his school’s orchestra. A budding athlete, he enjoys working out to stay in shape and playing basketball, his best and favorite sport. Davion also enjoys video games, going fishing, and playing board games such as Monopoly. He is also an animal lover who enjoys being with animals of all kinds. Davion enjoys school, is eager to learn and works hard at his studies. Helpful and respectful, he has excellent social skills, makes friends easily and enjoys doing magic tricks! Davion enjoys being the big brother, and takes his responsibility toward his brothers and sister seriously.

Suikwan, 10 (left) has a smile that will warm your heart. Like his older brother, he enjoys fishing and video games and pets of all kinds. Suikwan also likes photography cooking , skateboarding and roller skating. Inquisitive and eager to learn, Suikwan’s favorite place to visit is the St. Louis Science Center. Although he is shy when meeting new people, Suikwan is quite a talker when he begins to warm up.  A helper like Davion, Suikwan is always available to help with chores.

Brenton (right) lights up the room with his radiant smile. Although initially shy like his second brother, Brenton  is affectionate and  has a lot to say once he gets to know someone new. He loves toy cars, LEGOS, and all kinds of action figures. One of his favorite games is musical chairs. His favorite outdoor activities are fishing and swimming. Brenton is 8 years old.

Zaria
, 7, is affectionate and well mannered. Talkative and sweet, she loves “girlie” things like playing with Barbie dolls. Her greatest wish is to have a necklace, shoes, and a real princess dress to wear. Zaria’s favorite place to go is the playground and the zoo (so she can see the zebras!). Like her brothers, she’s an eager learner and loves pets. Friendly and social, Zaria likes to be outdoors playing kickball and basketball with her friends. Tessa - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Tessa is an affectionate and bubbly 15 year old. She is creative, very bright, has a vivid imagination, and is a big fan of country music. Tessa also adores horses.  She would love to live on a farm or with a family who shares her passion for animals.  Tessa enjoys writing and reading fictional novels such as the Twilight series and books about horses. Derek Minimize

Derek is 13 years old and could be the next Picasso! He is very artistic and especially loves to draw. He is also inspired to play the piano at church and is taking piano lessons to improve his skills.  Derek is an outgoing youth who loves to be the center of attention. Derek loves animals and would like to be adopted by a family who has pets.   Derek believes adoption would mean a new chance for him. He is bonded with his current foster family and responds well to the structure of their household.  His foster parents state he is helpful around the home and works well with supervision. He would do best in a two-parent household and the number of siblings is inconsequential. Willie - A Place to Call Home Minimize

 

Willie is an outgoing fun loving young man who would make an awesome addition to a forever family. Willie is very personable when you meet him. He enjoys talking and sharing about himself. Willie likes being a leader and setting good examples for others. He likes to read, cook, dance, ride his bike, and play video games. He said his favorite video games are Dragonball Z and Naruto. Willie also likes sports. His favorite sports are soccer and baseball. Willie said he has played on a soccer team before and that he really liked being on a team. At school, Willie enjoys reading and Art class. Willie has expressed that when he becomes an adult, he hopes one day to be a famous actor and dancer. He said he is really good at dancing. Alex & Jason - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Alex is a handsome young man with a calm demeanor and a great sense of humor.  He's friendly and does well in school.  Alex likes anything that is battery operated and goes )cars, planes, helicopters, etc.).  He enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together.  Often, he spends his time fixing things around the house for his foster mom (even when not asked!).  Alex also likes to swim, fish, play soccer, and play the guitar.  Jason is Alex's younger brother and is a fun-loving kid who really likes to hang out with his big brother.  Like most boys his age, Jason loves video games and playing outside.  His favorite place to go is to the movies.  Jason calls himself "mechanically inclined" just like his brother.  Both brothers are in Boy Scouts and are proud of their accomplishments and hope to find a forever family where they will be loved and cared for.  They just want to be normal kids, not labeled as being "in foster care." Amy Jo - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Anika - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Anika, 15, has a great sense of humor and a fun-loving attitude towards life.  Anika is not your typical teenage girl.  Instead of shopping and doing other "girlie things," Anika would rather be outside playing football and other sports.  She's definately a "tom girl."  If she could change one thing about the world, Anika says she would, "Stop bullies."  She has a fantastic heart and cares very much about those she loves. Anika also enjoys Church, where she spends a lot of time practicing her strong faith and being with people who care about her and treat her like a normal kid.  Anika is a very smart girl and her favorite school subject is creative writing. Dontate is very friendly and an all-around great kid. He has a strong sense of justice and is passionate about helping others. Dontate goes to church every Sunday and is proud of his strong faith. Dontate enjoys church activities, bowling, and having fun with friends. He has two older brothers and three sisters. He communicates with them mostly by texting and calling. Dontate would like to keep in touch with all his siblings.  Dontate is a respectful young man with a lot of strengths and would make an ideal older brother. Amanda Minimize

Amanda (16) is a very likeable child. She is described as sociable, bright and fun to be around. She makes friends easily and interacts well with her peers and other children. Amanda enjoys attention and is responsive to praise. She is making A’s and B’s in school and very proud of her grades. Amanda enjoys many activities including track & field, singing, and dancing. She also likes socializing and group activities.

Darian & Dae-Yona Minimize

Darian (12) is a typical big brother to his sister, Dae’Yona (11). Although they have not lived in the same home for over a year, he takes on the role of protector for his little sister. Both Darian and Dae’Yona take pride in their appearance and enjoy baking when they are together. They also share the love of spending time with friends. Dae’Yona values her friendship so much she started a scrapbook of names and numbers.  Darian enjoys participating in all kinds of sports—baseball and basketball are at the top of his list. He strives to do his best in team sports and has a strong sense of sportsmanship. Those who know Darian describe him as friendly, funny, and intelligent. When he receives consistent help completing his homework, Darian performs above average and enjoys all subjects but especially likes math. Dae’Yona is described as “all girl.” She was very excited to get her ears pierced last year! Her favorite activities include spending time with friends, shopping, baking, listening to music, and writing poetry. Dae’Yona is described as extremely friendly and interacts well with other children and adults. Darryon, 14, is a bright young man who would love to be a part of a forever family. When you see Darryon, one of the first things you notice is his big smile. He has a quiet demeanor at first but warms up quickly to others. Darryon is known for his charming personality. He is very nice, polite and friendly. Carliesha Minimize

17-year-old Carliesha is a great girl.  Like most teens her age, she enjoys getting her hair and nails done and going to the mall. David - A Place to Call Home Minimize

David is a tall 12 year old boy.  Like most boys his age, David loves to eat pizza, watch TV, and play video games.  One of his favorite places to go is Incredible Pizza, where he can play games and eat pizza at the same time! David is very helpful and likes to be around people.  He describes himself as “funny, nice, and smart.”   His favorite subject in school is reading and if he could change one thing about the world, he would make sure it was always a safe place for children to be in.  David hopes that he will find a forever family to love and be a part of.

Emily (17) and Kerie (13) are siblings who love each other very much and want more than anything to find a family who will adopt them together. Outgoing and talkative, Emily is a social butterfly. She is excited to be in the tenth grade and excels academically. Her favorite subject is science and she enjoys after school activities. Emily likes to shop, listen to music, go to the movies, and spend time with friends.  When she grows up, Emily would like to be a physical therapist so that she can help people. Katalyne and Courtney - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Katalyne and Courtney are sisters who love and care a lot about one another. Keonna (8) and Kevionna (4) are two sisters who love to entertain!  They also love acting silly with one another and being outside.  These girls are very beautiful with wonderful smiles and great laughs.  Both are very loving and smart young ladies.

Nicklas - A Place to Call Home Minimize

Nicklas, (16) Nick for short, iis fun loving and full of energy. Nick describes himself as being "funny in a random sort of way."  He likes to make people laugh by telling jokes and saying the unexpected during conversation. Nick is also very respectful and says others describe him as "a relaxed guy." Nick just finished the 11th grade and says he really likes the school he attends. His favorite subject is Physical Education because he likes to get moving around and have fun, too!

Like most teens, Nick likes to spend his free time playing video games. He would like to pursue a career in video game design.  His favorite video game is Pokemon. Nick enjoys conquering the levels in the game. This is important to Nick as he feels that he has conquered so many things in his life.  Nick is also very talented on the drums.  He likes to make rhythmic beats and sing to them. Nick is a drummer at his church.

Nick enjoys spending time with older peers and would be an ideal younger brother. He likes having someone to look up to for advice. He would prosper in a family that is able to provide him with a lot of one-on-one attention and he says he wants a family that he can call his own, but is fearful of rejection.  Nick needs a family that will be able to advocate for his educational needs and will not give up on him. Oshena Minimize

Oshena is a friendly young lady who’s definitely going places!  Outgoing and personable, Oshena is artistic and creative, and puts these skills to good use in the field of fashion by arranging combinations of clothes and matching styles and designs.  She is also skilled in hair care and makeup, and enjoys helping her friends find a “new look.”  Oshena is also good at technology, and can navigate the web and social media like a real expert.  Realizing the importance of education, Oshena wants to get her high school diploma, and then enter the police academy.  She hopes to eventually become a K-9 officer, where her patience and love of animals should serve her well in training and working with a police dog.

Although she’s an older child at 18, Oshena hopes to find an adoptive family that will be there for her, and also help her stick to her educational and career goals.  Oshena is active in the community, and has volunteered her time to help others and to make things better.

Phillip - A Place to Call Home Minimize

If ever there was a child with a big heart, it’s 15-year old Phillip.  His kindness is only surpassed by his empathy and concern for others. Phillip has a great, playful sense of humor and a polite demeanor.  He has a pleasant and easy-going personality. Phillip enjoys books, especially about animals.  He is fascinated by unusual facts about animals and is eager to share this love and knowledge with others.  When it comes to animals, Phillip's favorite is a dog, hands-down.  He is gentle and kind with the family dog in his foster home.  Phillip rides a therapeutic horse weekly and it is something that he truly enjoys – and is benefiting from!  Like most boys his age, Phillip enjoys video games.  He also likes jumping on the trampoline, playing with legos and cars, and coloring.  Phillip is really passionate about art.  He’s always using pencils and charcoal to sketch.  Drawing helps Phillip express himself and it’s something he really loves to do.  Phillip likes school, especially math.  When asked to describe himself, Phillip says, “I’m handsome, I’m nice, and I can draw!” 

Phillip thrives on one-on-one attention. He has waited a long time for a his forever family to find him.  He deserves a loving family that is patient and understanding. Sharod Minimize

12-year-old Sharod is a very smart young man looking for a forever family.  He likes to hang out with his friends and gets along very well with just about anyone!  Sharod reads often and loves to find a quite place to sit down with a good book. Shaelyn (12) is sweet, appreciative, and a joy to be around.  She loves to draw, do crafts, and work on almost any type of artistic project that she can transfer from her imagination to paper. Vi-Torian and Rome0 - Extreme Recruitment Minimize

Vi-Torian is an outgoing, adventurous young lady with a great heart. She loves writing poems and song lyrics.  Her favorite thing is singing. Beyonce’ is her favorite performer and Vi-Torian says that she wishes to be a singer when she grows up.  
Romeo is “a pleaser,” says his foster mother.  Romeo often does nice things for others just "because." He's a very sweet boy.   Romeo loves being around his friends and playing football and basketball. Romeo also likes drawing (he specializes in drawing cars and avatars), playing outside, riding his bike, and reading. Romeo is proud of himself for obtaining the highest level of reading in his class.
These siblings love one another very much and have a strong bond.  Vi-Torian says that her brother is "smart."  Romeo says that his sister is "pretty, sweet, nice, and smart."  They would love a forever family that will give them the opportunity to grow up together and continue to support their bond with one another.  They also have older siblings who they would like to maintain contact with.  Termination of Parental Rights has occurred; Vi-Torian and Romeo are legally free for adoption.
