KSDK's A Place to Call Home Minimize

The Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition is pleased to partner with KSDK NewsChannel 5 for “A Place to Call Home.” (APTCH) This award-winning, weekly program features children who are legally free for adoption. It airs Tuesdays at 6:00p.m., Thursdays between 5:30 & 6:00a.m. and Saturdays during the 9:00a.m. newscast. This program has been enormously successful; out of the more than 200 children who have been featured, 50% of them have, or are in the process of being, placed in an adoptive home. “A Place to Call Home” even found an adoptive home for a sibling group of nine children! Because of the programs innovative approach to adoption, “A Place to Call Home” was awarded the National Association of Broadcaster’s Service to America Award and was nominated for a National Emmy.  It won a Regional Emmy in the Community Outreach area, and locally, was awarded the “What’s Right in the Region” award from Focus St. Louis.

Sears Portrait Studios (CPI) have become a wonderful community partner.  The KSDK website now has stunning photos of the children and youth featured on "A Place to Call Home."  The children truly enjoy the photography sessions...Sears gives them the "STAR" treatment which raises kids hopes and self-esteem.  Potential families can connect with the beautiful faces of children.
