Our Programs

The Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition offers more than 25 programs designed to create a supportive network for families and a vibrant foster care and adoption community in the St. Louis region.

Alongside our network of member agencies, our services fill programmatic gaps that empower families to help children heal as we work toward our vision: For every child…A Place to Call Home.

30 Days to Family®

A nationally replicated model developed by the Coalition. This short-term intervention identifies an average of 150 relatives per child within 30 days of the child entering foster care, ensuring natural supports and family placement.

A Place to Call Home

A heartwarming media partnership with KSDK 5 On Your Side that features children who are legally free for adoption. Through storytelling and visibility, the segment has helped over 580 children find their forever family.

Extreme Recruitment®

A 12- to 20-week intensive adoption or guardianship recruitment for older youth or sibling groups, driven by the need to avoid youth aging out of foster care.

Family Connections

Provides family and engagement services at any time during a child’s time in foster care to ensure the youth has a lifelong supportive network.

Senate Bill 683

This Missouri legislation allows the Coalition to launch family finding efforts during the 72-hour emergency placement period, with the goal to divert youth from entering foster care.

Families United

Families United assists relatives as they navigate and complete the kinship caregiver licensing process.

RESPOND

RESPOND is a program specifically designed to increase the number of Black/African American non-relative foster families.

Empowering resource parents to meet the needs of older youth facing moderate to serious emotional and behavioral health challenges.

Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC)

Training and supporting the most highly-skilled foster parents to meet the needs of children with complex trauma.

Family Works

Family Works engages families through in-home therapeutic support to promote cohesion and healing.

Coalition CareLine

The Coalition CareLine connects our families to crucial support services, resources, and referrals with a single call.

Comprehensive Systems Navigation

Providing care coordination to assist youth and families in navigating multiple systems.

Educational Advocacy

Educational Advocacy advances children’s educational stability so they can become successful learners.

Older Youth Readiness

Older Youth Readiness helps youth develop the skills and resources necessary for adult interdependence.

Regional Family Support

Regional Family Support fills caregiver support service gaps in the counties of Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Warren.

Booster Club

Providing a monthly space for families to connect.

DDP Parent Labs

Advancing the trauma and attachment skills of our families through education, practice, and peer support.

Relative Support Group

Offering relatives/kin support and tools to meet their unique caregiving needs.

Respite Coordination

Facilitating connections between parents to provide a regular reprieve from the stress of caregiving.

Respite Events

Organizing parents’ day out activities to provide a break to caregivers, while the children have fun at local attractions.

Family Enrichment & Volunteering

Family Enrichment creates lasting memories for children and families affected by foster and adoptive care.

Back-to-School Bonanza

Provides children with high-quality backpacks, school supplies, and school uniforms to start the school year off strong.

Birthday Buddies

Birthdays are meant to be special! Birthday Buddies benefits kids in foster care with upcoming birthdays who have been identified as likely to receive very few or no gifts for their birthday.

Clothing Allowance Access

The Clothing Allowance Program makes it easy for foster youth to get the clothes they need without waiting for reimbursement. We purchase requested items upfront and deduct the cost from their annual clothing allowance.

Little Wishes Holiday Program

Project Dream Dress

Every high schooler deserves to feel and look their best at their prom, and Project Dream Dress is here to make that happen. We’re dedicated to ensuring that youth impacted by foster care experience a special prom night by offering beautiful dresses and dapper tuxedos.

ReFresh

ReFresh brings fashion, community, and purpose together. Every sale supports youth impacted by foster care, while every customer enjoys an inclusive, affordable shopping experience.

Continuing Education for Caregivers

Augmenting licensed foster, adoptive, kinship, or guardianship parent knowledge on topics specific to their needs.

Foster Parent Licensing

Delivering enhanced training to individuals on the path to becoming a foster parent or kinship provider.

Support for Professionals

Offering advanced training to foster care case managers, court personnel, therapists, educators, etc, and program replication nationwide and in parts of Canada.
