Regional Family Support

Regional Family Support fills caregiver support service gaps in the counties of Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Warren.

What Is Regional Family Support?

Since our founding in 1989, the Coalition’s service area has included the counties of Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Warren; however, our outreach was limited. A recent funding expansion allowed us to hire staff to increase our support in these counties.

  • I am caring for my 10-year-old grandson. He is a joy, but it’s been hard because my relationship with my daughter is strained. Plus, my mother recently moved in with my grandson and me because she has Alzheimer’s. If it wasn’t for Veronica, I don’t know if I could keep juggling these relationships and responsibilities. She encourages me at the exact times I need it and helps me find local resources (such as school and transportation) to help make my day-to-day easier.”

How Does It Work?

Any caregiver or professional can reach out for services. Our Specialists will complete an assessment to determine the family’s needs, including:

  • Navigating the child welfare, educational, and other systems
  • Identifying community resources needed for placement stability

What Makes it Unique?

Our staff is 100% dedicated to the needs of caregivers in your counties. Our Specialists are seasoned professionals with years of child welfare experience. In complex cases, our Support Specialists have the backing of their Coalition colleagues for additional assistance. A recent funding expansion allowed us to hire staff to increase our support in these counties.

Who is Eligible?

Any caregiver (including relatives) who:

  • Lives in the counties of Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, or Warren
  • Is caring for a child who is in foster care or exited foster care to adoption or guardianship

Measuring Impact

Families matched with appropriate services and support to meet their needs

Parents have knowledge, skills and support for positive parenting*

*As measured by the Parental Stress Scale
