You may have heard that the Coalition’s funding was eliminated from the Missouri House budget.
Your outreach last week made an *enormous* difference—and as a direct result—the House reinstated 76% of the funding on March 26th!
We are deeply grateful to the caregivers, donors, volunteers, and community members who showed up in a big way, calling and emailing their local representatives to make their voices heard.
Also, we are incredibly thankful to the Missouri House Representatives who took the time to learn more about the children and families we serve. A special thank you to Representative Kimberly-Ann Collins (77) for her fierce advocacy, unwavering support, and dedication to helping restore critical funding.
Now, let’s make sure our kids receive 100% of what they deserve. Please call your Senator. Here’s how.

Please call and leave a voicemail saying:
“My name is ________ and I live in district number __. Vital services for foster youth and families have been cut. I encourage the Senator to reinstate $2.4 million for the Family Resource Centers in House Bill 2011. Daycare for foster children is also at risk.
We can’t let our foster and adoptive families down. Thank you for doing the right thing for our neighbors.”

FAQ:
- Why am I saying Family Resource Centers and not the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition? In the Missouri budget bill, we are referred to as Family Resource Centers.
- Why a call and not an email? All calls and voicemails are logged by the legislator’s staff. Emails may not be.
- When do I need to call? Right now! All calls must be made before Sunday, March 29.
- What else can I do to help? Missouri legislators are in their home districts on Fridays. If you are willing to participate in a meeting that the Coalition sets up with your senator, please click here.
