Helping Families in Times of Need

Over the past weeks, the Coalition has rallied to support our foster and adoptive families who were impacted by devastating tornadoes.

While our hearts are heavy with compassion for everyone who was affected, they are also filled with hope. Witnessing our community come together in the wake of this tragedy has been truly inspiring.

We’d like to take a moment to express our gratitude to the local businesses and individuals who helped with our tornado response efforts:

  • Warehouse of Fixtures TNG
  • Bailey & Glasser, LLP
  • PracticeLink
  • Eileen Flaherty
  • …and so many more!

Our staff didn’t hesitate to jump in, either! We packed care kits filled with gift cards and essentials like cleaning supplies and hygiene products. As we reached out, we asked our families what they needed most and shopped specifically for these items, such as coolers, nonperishable food, and tarps. In most cases, we made deliveries directly to their doorsteps. Additionally, many families came to ReFresh for clothing. Our families are a testament to the resilience of our community as a whole.

Since the tornado, the words, “We have to do something,” have been spoken in our office more times than we can count. We’re immensely proud of our staff, volunteers, donors, and partners for their immediate response to this crisis, but we know that our community is only just beginning to heal. There is a long road ahead, but you can count on the Coalition to be here for our kids and families every step of the way.

If you are interested in supporting our efforts, please consider donating new or gently used clothing to ReFresh or purchase items from our Amazon wishlist.
