It’s Real: Conversations with Your Child About Mental Health, featuring Compass Health
August 14| 6–8:30 p.m.
2.5 hours training credit
Join us for a unique training for parents and youth in middle and high school for a conversation about mental health. It’s Real is a program facilitated by mental health education specialists from Compass Health. It’s Real is designed to provide mental health education to teenagers aged 11 and up. In this program, attendees will learn what mental health is, the signs that someone is struggling, how to talk to others about mental health, and what to do if you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health. After the presentation, youth will be excused. An adults-only discussion about youth mental health and the importance of safety planning will follow.
PLEASE NOTE: This presentation briefly touches on suicide and what a child can do to get help. If anyone needs assistance before or after the presentation, please call or text 988, Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
